ST3 features
See the shot. See the decision.
Marksman ST3 is a shooting simulator for your own rifle, shotgun, or handgun. A wireless optical tracker places each shot on a projected scenario and keeps the movement. You train the shot and the choice to take it. No live round is fired at the screen.

Tracking
Optical tracking
Optical tracking on Marksman ST3 measures where your firearm is pointing and maps the shot onto the projected screen. Precision is 0.18 MOA, about 5 mm at 100 m. A laser spot on the wall is a different method, and a beam that spreads by degrees cannot show a miss of a few centimetres.

Shot detection
Shot detection on Marksman ST3 is a detector on the trigger guard. Nothing goes down the barrel. The scenario answers in about 1 ms, so the break, the lead, and the follow-through stay tied to the moment you fired.

Your firearm
Marksman ST3 mounts on your rifle, shotgun, or handgun. Trigger weight, stock, and balance stay the ones you already have. You practice the mount and the follow-through of that firearm. No live round is fired at the screen.

Ballistics
Marksman ST3 reads a shotgun shot as one of 12,600 combinations of pellet, size, speed, charge, and choke. Rifle and handgun shots use 235 calibers and 4,700+ bullet profiles. A different cartridge is a different result, the way it is outside.

Scenarios
A Marksman ST3 scenario is the target, its path, and the background you train against. The library ships with 1,000+ scenarios. You set distance, speed, angle, and height, and a photograph of your own shooting range can be that background.

Movement
The swing
The swing on Marksman ST3 is the recorded path of the barrel. Swing through, pull away, and a maintained lead each leave a different speed trace. On a rifle, you either stay with the animal or meet it. A stop, a poke, and a jerk do not look the same.

Feedback
After the shot
After the shot, Marksman ST3 replays the barrel path and the clock. The aim trail is colored by speed against the target. Shot stability, path align, and follow-through angle describe the movement. Reaction time and pre-trigger time describe the moment. You can replay it immediately.

Coaching
Coaching on Marksman ST3 uses the same picture for the coach and the shooter. The barrel path and the impact are already there, so the session is spent changing the movement. You isolate one variable, repeat the problem target, and keep the figures.

Safety and ethics
Judgment
Judgment on Marksman ST3 means the safe lane is visible before you fire. The replay sets the barrel path against the no-shoot zone, so you see when the gun came up, not only where the shot landed. A shot into that zone, or inside another person's safety angle, is an unsafe result.
No-shoot zone
Realism, safety, ethics
ST3 is a training instrument. A shot that would be unsafe outside is a failure of judgment, not a point to chase. People, animals, and obstacles stay in the picture.
Optional remote monitoring
Optional remote monitoring helps make sure every bug is reported. Those reports strongly affect the quality of the software Marksman's experienced engineers develop.
Questions
What is the Marksman ST3 shooting simulator?
Marksman ST3 is a projector-based shooting simulator. A wireless optical tracker on your rifle, shotgun, or handgun maps each shot to the screen at 0.18 MOA, with about 1 ms from shot to picture. It is not a laser insert, a VR headset, or a game controller, and no live round is fired at the screen.
What can you train on Marksman ST3?
You can train stance and mount, shotgun methods such as swing through and pull away, rifle tracking or interception, clays, driven birds, running game, sidearm work, and defense engagements against drones. The record shows the movement, the impact, and whether the shot was a safe one.
Do defense units use Marksman ST3 for drone shooting?
Yes. Marksman has worked with the French Army and with elite regiments. Defense and counter-drone units rehearse the engagement on Marksman ST3 before they spend live rounds. Those sessions have been used when the units write their shooting doctrine.
Who is Marksman's partner for hunting safety?
Marksman is a partner of the French National Hunting Association, which represents over 950,000 active hunters in France.
Can simulator-only training reach competition level?
Shooters who trained only on Marksman, with no live ammunition, have competed at national and international level in Romania and in Poland, in 2020 and in 2025.
Can you create your own scenario on Marksman ST3?
Yes. You set distance, speed, angle, and height, and you choose the background. A photograph of your own shooting range can be that background. You can add trees and bushes, and the tactical extension adds your own silhouettes. The library already holds 1,000+ scenarios.
Can you build your own shooting drill?
Yes. You chain your own scenarios into a drill. Afterwards the round prints as a score sheet: score, hits, consistency, and the timing figures.
Does Olympic trap on Marksman ST3 follow the 2026 ISSF rules?
Yes. Olympic trap uses the 2026 ISSF rules, and the 2022 tables are still available. You can train only the left target, only the middle, or only the right.
Does a Marksman ST3 competition print a ranking with KPIs?
Yes. After the competition, Marksman ST3 prints a ranking of the shooters with the round's KPIs: score, hit rate, consistency, and pre-trigger time.
Does Marksman ST3 offer remote monitoring?
Yes. Remote monitoring is optional. It helps make sure every bug is reported, and those reports strongly affect the quality of the software Marksman's experienced engineers develop.
Figures are published Marksman ST3 specifications: 0.18 MOA tracking, about 1 ms from shot to screen, 235 calibers, 4,700+ rifle and handgun profiles, and 12,600 shotgun combinations.
